Myth: I need to get in shape first before I try CrossFit
Fact: To put it simply…. this is non-sense. No other workout is quite like CrossFit and will not adequately prepare you. You only need to commit to your health and to change… this is your first step to getting in shape.
Myth: I have to be a current or former athlete to be successful in CrossFit.
Fact: You don’t need to have any experience or have ever worked out a day in your life. CrossFit is adaptable for all ages, and all levels of experience. Quite honestly, this is the beauty of CrossFit…each workout is as unique as the individual.
Myth: CrossFit is just a bunch of weightlifting and running done together in a HIIT format.
Fact: CrossFit is functional movement that is used every day by everyone (Sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling) combined with various forms of cardio (running, rowing, biking) along with gymnastic/bodyweight movements (planks, push/pull/sit ups, etc.) in a specific format to train both aerobic and anaerobic fitness.
Myth: CrossFit is expensive
Fact: CrossFit costs less per day than your coffee and fast food lunch. With CrossFit, you receive personal training EACH and EVERY class as well as the support of the community around you. People who understand the struggle and reward that comes with each workout
Myth: I’ll get hurt doing CrossFit
Fact: Injuries happen to folks regardless of whether or not they CrossFit. Injuries occur in all sports as well as in everyday life. Our coaches are trained to identify when and where modifications are appropriate and instruct you in safe functional movement. CrossFit can in fact help to prevent overuse injuries from daily activities and increase your overall wellness substantially.
Myth: CrossFit is hard
Fact: Not gonna lie… CrossFit is hard, but the level of difficulty is constantly changing as are your capabilities. With consistent training and improved nutritional habits, what once was hard for you becomes easier and often you are on to the next goal by the time you even notice. :)
